Compliance for Nicotine and Tobacco Sales

Region: Dane County Excluding Madison
Measurement Period: 2019
This indicator reports the percentage of compliance checks that resulted in the appropriate denial of sale of nicotine and tobacco products to an underage person.

Why is this important?

The use of nicotine and tobacco products is a major source for various types of cancers and respiratory disease burden in our community.  The prevention of availability of these products to unaged persons reduces the number of potential underage users of the product, influences the number of future users of the product and reduces the disease burden that results from nicotine and tobacco products.
